FotoBoom ("we," "our," or "the app") is an AI-powered photo and video transformation application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Photos and Videos (Including Face Data)

When you use FotoBoom to transform a photo or generate a video, the image or video you select — which may contain your face or the faces of others — is sent to third-party AI services for processing. We collect the following types of visual data:

• Photos you select from your device's camera roll or camera
• Face data contained in photos: The photos you submit may contain faces. This face data is used solely for the purpose of applying artistic transformations (e.g., style transfer, costume changes, background modifications). No facial recognition, biometric identification, facial geometry mapping, or faceprint extraction is performed.
• Videos you select for video-to-video transformations
• Text prompts you enter to describe your desired transformation
• Reference images you optionally provide for style guidance

1.2 Device and Usage Data

We collect anonymous device and usage data to improve the app, including:

• Device model, operating system, and app version
• General region/locale (not precise GPS location)
• Feature usage patterns (e.g., which templates are popular)
• Purchase and credit usage records
• A unique device identifier for account and credit management

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Photo and Video Processing

Your photos and videos are sent to third-party AI services exclusively for the purpose of performing the transformation you requested. Specifically:

• Image transformations: Your photo and text prompt are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the transformed image.
• Image inpainting (area editing): Your photo, mask, and prompt are sent to fal.ai's API to edit a selected area.
• Video generation: Your photo or video is sent to fal.ai's API to generate an animated video.
• AI prompt suggestions: Your photo may be analyzed by Google's Gemini API to suggest transformation ideas. This is text-only analysis — no images are stored.

2.2 Face Data Usage

Face data contained in your photos is used only for artistic transformation purposes. We do not:

• Perform facial recognition or biometric identification
• Create facial geometry maps or faceprints
• Use face data for advertising, tracking, or profiling
• Build facial databases or train models on your face data
• Share face data with any party other than the AI processing services described in this policy

2.3 Other Uses

• Process and manage credit purchases and subscriptions
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Improve app performance and AI quality
• Provide customer support

3. Third-Party AI Services

FotoBoom uses the following third-party AI services to process your photos and videos. Before your first transformation, the app will ask for your explicit consent to share your data with these services.

3.1 Google Gemini API (Google LLC)

• Data sent: Your photo and text prompt
• Purpose: Image transformation and AI prompt suggestions
• Retention: Google processes data in accordance with their Gemini API Terms of Service. Per Google's API data usage policies, data submitted through the paid API is not used to train Google's models.

3.2 fal.ai (fal.ai, Inc.)

• Data sent: Your photo or video, and text prompt
• Purpose: Video generation and image inpainting (area editing)
• Retention: fal.ai processes data transiently. Generated outputs are temporarily stored for download and then deleted. Input data is not retained after processing.

3.3 Firebase (Google LLC)

• Data sent: Device identifiers, usage analytics, credit/purchase records, temporarily uploaded videos for processing
• Purpose: Analytics, data storage, credit management, video file transfer
• Retention: Account data retained while active. Temporary video files are deleted after processing.

3.4 RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.)

• Data sent: Anonymous purchase and subscription data
• Purpose: Payment processing and subscription management

4. Data Retention

• Photos and face data: Your original photos are not stored on our servers after the transformation is complete. Photos are transmitted to the AI service, processed, and the result is returned to your device. The original is not retained.
• Transformed results: Stored locally on your device only. We do not keep copies on our servers.
• Face data retention: Face data is retained only for the duration of the AI processing request (typically seconds to minutes). It is not stored, cached, or retained by us after processing is complete.
• Videos for processing: Videos uploaded for video-to-video transformation are temporarily stored on Firebase Storage during processing and automatically deleted afterward.
• Usage and device data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes.
• Purchase records: Retained as long as your account is active for credit management.

5. Your Consent

By using FotoBoom's transformation features, you consent to your photos (which may include face data) being sent to the third-party AI services described above for processing. The app will present a clear consent dialog before your first transformation, explaining:

• What data will be sent (your photo and prompt)
• Who it will be sent to (Google Gemini API and fal.ai)
• That face data is used only for artistic transformation

You may decline this consent, in which case you will not be able to use the transformation features.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
• API communications go through secure Firebase Cloud Functions (server-side proxy), so API keys are never exposed on your device
• We do not store your photos on our servers

7. Children's Privacy

FotoBoom is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (by discontinuing use of the app)
• Request correction of inaccurate data
